Voice of the Awards winners Jaye Harrison and David Roper become BBC Radio Voice-overs.
Selected by BBC 1Xtra and BBC Radio 1 as station voices, Jaye Harrison and David Roper, from Fly FM, will become the voices of BBC 1Xtra Live Events and BBC Radio 1 podcasts respectively.
The pair were selected out of over 100 people who entered demo's of their voices into the Voice of the Awards competition at the Student Radio Conference 2010 in March at Nottingham Trent University, a competition that sees the winners perform voice-overs for the prestigious Student Radio Awards ceremony.
Jaye is pleasantly surprised: '' I can't believe that this happened to me. I have the strongest Essex accent you will ever hear!'' Her "Essex" voice will be heard alongside the likes of Trevor Nelson and Tim Westwood when the voice-overs go live in the next couple of weeks.
Both Voice of the Awards winners can also be heard at the 2010 Student Radio Awards, taking place this year at the IndigO2 in London.
