Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, BIRSt is run by the Radio Production masters students of Bournemouth University. It celebrated its first decade of success with the help of devout ‘radiophile’ Phill Jupitus re-launching the rebaranded station on the Monday 8^th February 2010. This year also marks the first year BIRSt will carry a music license allowing it to broadcast specialist music programmes and exclusive live sessions.

Station Founded 1999

The Bournemouth Internet Radio Station (BIRSt), founded ten years ago by Prof. Sean Street as part of the design for the MA in Radio Production in the Media School at Bournemouth University. Celebrating its ten year anniversary, BIRSt has untertaken a rebranding during its relaunch and now showcases content on a new website.

The award-winning online radio site (www.birst.co.uk) is run entirely by students from the MA Radio Production course. This year BIRSt broadens its unique remit by broadcasting high quality music programming as well as speech.
