Forge Radio visualises the Student Radio Chart Show

This week Sheffield's Forge Radio will visualise the Student Radio Chart Show for the first time in its history.

On Sunday 11th March, listeners will be able to tune in as normal from 3pm to hear the top ten unsigned tracks supported by Emerging Icons.

But, at 4pm the cameras will switch on at ForgeRadio.com to count down of the biggest 10 tracks from student nights out across the country, supported by Flirt!

Chair Report: March 2012

Conference is fast approaching, and things get very hectic.

I firstly want to apologise that this is the first time that I've managed to write an Exec report. After being elected last April, and since taking on the role from David in July, I've been 3 times as busy as I expected. I'm confident in saying that sentiment goes for the rest of the executive this year. I'm frustrated that a couple of my manifesto pledges have not come to fruition, simply because there has not been enough time, man power, or expense to be able to concentrate on them.

For the second year running the Student Radio Association has teamed together with The Hits Radio and What Goes On Media to offer the chance for the best student radio talent in the country to appear on The Hits Radio.

The most exceptional student radio presenters – solo, duo or team - will have the opportunity to win their own series of four shows on The Hits Radio, two coaching sessions from What Goes On Media plus tickets to Live 2012, Manchester’s biggest pop concert.

For the first time ever, top notch newsreaders are being given the chance to shine. One astute journalist will receive a full week’s training at Bauer’s award winning news hub in Manchester, learning all about how the team develops and delivers news output. The winner will also take the hot seat for a full afternoon to present the updates for The Hits Radio. Winners will also receive tickets to Live 2012.

The National Student Radio Chart Show: Back for 2012

This Sunday (22nd January) see's the second-term launch of our new-look National Student Radio Chart Show! IC Radio in London will be the first hosts of the new look Chart show.

Broadcast from a different SRA member station each week and networked on student stations across the UK. The National Student Radio Chart Show is split into two parts.

Firstly the Unsigned Top 10 (3-4pm). This is supported by Emerging Icons. Emerging Icons give unsigned music artists a platform to be heard within the industry. They work closely with Absolute Radio and provide the artists for Absolute's Pick of the Week for the Sunday Night Music Club.

After 4pm, we play the Hits Top 10 (4-5pm), supported by Flirt! Flirt! are the organisation behind the UK's biggest official student night - reaching 25 venues and 30,000 students every week.
